I used to follow the typical diet routine; I ate consciously yet gained weight. But a simple hack changed that considerably! It’s a dream for many to eat a lot, yet not gain weight! This little tip can help you shed some pounds - without exercising or dieting.
One simple change
Even though I followed a fairly regulated, proper diet, I was extremely dehydrated as well. So I decided to level up my hydration levels and kept a journal, to keep track of the number of glasses of water I drank each day. This simple habit made me a lot more aware of my daily water consumption. So within a few days, I went from drinking two or three, to 12 glasses each day. And yup – it made a profound impact on my weight.
Impact of water on weight loss-
Research has proven that drinking 0.5 liters of water boosts your metabolism by 30 percent per hour. This is because drinking water activates thermogenesis in the body. The body spends energy in order to warm the fluid to body temperature. So the more energy used, the more rapid the metabolism.
Another impact of greater water consumption is that it fills you up, hence making you eat less. When hungry, your immediate urge would be to eat food. However, the brain often mistakes thirst for hunger. Hence, you may be actually low in water instead of nutrients! Another fascinating fact is that because water passes through the system very rapidly, and stretching the stomach, it causes a sense of satiety. As a result, the brain receives a message indicating stomach fullness. This piece of information is important to consider, especially before having a meal.
Keeping track accelerates the process of weight loss because you become more aware, and hence remember, the number of glasses of water you are drinking. Thankfully, I now enjoy more food will lesser concern about gaining weight.
